PEDRO - Danslärare
Pedro Miguel González is a Venezuelan-born dancer, choreographer, educator, and creative director based in Melbourne, Australia, where he co-directs Cortés Dance. Since leaving Venezuela in 2014 in search of greater artistic opportunities and personal growth, Pedro has built an international career rooted in authenticity, musicality, and a deep connection to Latin culture.
Originally beginning his professional dance training in his early twenties while studying at university, Pedro’s journey was driven by instinct, passion, and the belief that movement could become both a profession and a powerful way to connect with people. Over the years, he has trained extensively across Salsa, Mambo, Bachata, Afro-Cuban fusion, Afro-contemporary, jazz, ballet, ballroom technique, and musical theatre, developing a style that blends technical precision with emotional freedom and expression.
His work has earned him multiple World Championship titles along with international recognition for his charismatic performances, musical interpretation, and dynamic teaching style. Deeply inspired by rhythm and percussion, Pedro believes true freedom in dance begins when people stop trying to move like others and start trusting their own voice.
After leaving Venezuela during one of the country’s most difficult periods, Pedro spent years rediscovering what it meant to carry his culture with him. Today, his work is shaped by the warmth, flavor, intensity, and humanity of the Latin traditions he grew up with, while also embracing the opportunities and growth he found in Australia, a country he now proudly calls home.
Beyond performing and competition, Pedro is passionate about helping people grow in confidence through movement. Known for being both entertaining and highly technical, he has become respected for creating spaces where dancers can challenge themselves while still feeling connected to the joy and authenticity of the experience.
Whether through teaching, performing, competing, or creating content, Pedro continues to inspire dancers around the world to train with honesty, express themselves fully, and remain connected to the humanity behind movement.
