SIERRA - Danslärare
Sierra Serban is a dance artist, educator, and choreographer who is passionate about creating supportive and reflective dance environments for students of all ages.
Sierra received her BFA in Dance from the Alonzo King LINES Ballet program at Dominican University of California in San Francisco. She specializes in ballet and contemporary dance education and brings more than 12 years of teaching experience from across the San Francisco Bay Area and her native Indiana.
She began her pre-professional ballet studies at Project Ballet in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and has since trained with Dance Italia, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, FLOCK, Milwaukee Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, and Whim W’Him Contemporary Dance.
In recent years, Sierra has created both concert and competitive choreographic works for the Alonzo King LINES Ballet BFA Program, ODC’s State of Play Festival, Just Dance Academy, and Fort Wayne Dance Collective. She has also taught students of all ages at Marin Ballet, Just Dance Academy, and LINES.
Sierra has directed and performed in dance films featured at notable film festivals in Indiana, San Francisco, and Seattle. Her performance career encompasses both ballet and contemporary dance, including roles in George Balanchine’s Serenade, Who Cares?, and Valse Fantaisie, as well as Gerald Arpino’s Birthday Variations.
She has also performed at several dance festivals, including the Black Choreographers Festival in Oakland, California, and the American College Dance Association (ACDA) Festival in Arizona.
